Cotinga

Neotropical Birding and Conservation’s annual journal Cotinga provides a forum for news, notices, recent publications, expedition results, reviews and publication of studies on Neotropical birds by contributors from all parts of the world. An online version of the journal is published in the spring and a print version in the autumn.

Since issue 32 of Cotinga, some of the articles in the printed version have been published in Cotinga Online ahead of the publication of the printed version. Cotinga Online is essentially a separate publication, though almost all of the papers in it (except for two in Cotinga Online 32) have been published in the printed version of Cotinga as well. If you are citing any of the papers that appeared in both journals, the NBC would prefer you to cite the details of the paper as it appeared in Cotinga.

Contributing to Cotinga

The accent of papers and short notes is on new distributional and temporal information, including new country records, new data concerning biology, particularly breeding, and novel interpretations concerning taxonomy, particularly descriptions of new taxa. Cotinga does not consider papers on aberrant plumages or diet.

Contributions in English, Spanish or Portuguese are considered and accepted subject to editing and refereeing. Copies of new journals, books or reports for mention or reviewing are always welcomed. All contributions or enquiries should be sent to the Managing Editor, Cotinga, Neotropical Birding and Conservation, c/o The Lodge, Sandy, Bedfordshire, SG19 2DL, UK. Email: [email protected]
